Ill

By Lisa

Well no lie in this morning. I woke up before eight because of banging outside our house.
Since we don’t have double-glazing I always feel like I’m sleeping on the street. This morning I woke up to the sound of 8 Bob the Builders hammering down metal things on the street. Great!

I’m ill today with a cold. It’s getting worse and worse, I woke up in cold sweats.

Another good thing with this country: all the drugs you can get when you are ill. There is a tablet for every little thing that bothers you. In Sweden you have to go to the doctor to get a prescription for almost everything and here you just pop down to Boots, it’s like a ‘drugs pick and mix’! It’s great.

Saying that: about a year ago my friend Marie was visiting me and as a welcome present I gave her my cold. I introduced her to my favorite drug: “Day and Night Nurse”. I love it! What a brilliant name. And the pills are red & yellow/green & yellow, its got to work. So we where lying in the sofa eating Swedish sweets (oh how I miss you Swedish sweets!), being ill and taking Day and Night Nurse. Marie agreed: it was good stuff.

Marie went back to Sweden with a packet of Day and Night Nurse in her bag. A couple of days later her (Swedish) GP is looking at her and her massive rash and then looking at the packet of Day and Night Nurse. He was not too impressed.

Nick is at the gym and will on his way back go to the post office and pick up what we think is the superduper phone…
